✍️ Custom Summary Prompts

Custom Summary Prompt is now available in settings for servers with the Premium or Pro tier.

You can now control how NoteCat writes summaries by setting a default prompt for all new recordings, choosing from built-in presets like Meeting Notes, Action Items, Casual Recap, Gaming Session, and D&D Session, or writing a fully custom prompt.

If one recording needs something different, you can also override the prompt directly on that recording page before regenerating the summary.

You can find the server-level setting in Server Settings > Custom Summary Prompt.

🔧 Other Changes

You can now edit a recording's icon on the recording page. The icon will still be selected by AI initially, but you now have the opportunity to override with your own selection.
We tightened the End Recording permission check. A recording can now only be ended by the person who started it, someone currently in the voice channel, or someone with Manage Server permission.

⏳ Important Note for Free Users

Starting April 6, 2026, recordings on the Free tier begin expiring after 7 days.

Web access to the transcript and recorded audio expires 7 days after creation. Expired free-tier recordings are then permanently deleted 30 days after creation. For any free-tier recordings created before April 6, 2026, the 7-day timer starts on April 6, 2026.

Please take this opportunity to download your recordings before they expire, or upgrade to Premium for unlimited storage while subscription is active.
