Pinned Transcripts and Recording Notification Controls

Thanks to your feedback, we have a big set of changes deploying today.

📌 Pin Active Transcripts to the Bottom

You can now keep the live transcript at the bottom of the Discord channel while a recording is active.

When this is enabled, NoteCat reposts the live transcript after people chat in the channel, so the latest transcript stays easy to find instead of getting buried above new messages.

Here’s a quick demo:

You can turn this on for an individual recording from the live transcript's settings button, or enable Pin Active Transcript to the Bottom in server settings to make new recordings start this way by default.

🔔 Recording Notification Controls

There is a new setting to disable the spoken "Recording in Progress" sound that plays when someone joins a voice channel with an active recording.

This has been a hotly requested setting for smaller servers where everyone is already on the same page about being recorded. The setting is still on by default and requires admin confirmation on the server settings page to disable.

Note that there are still many other indicators that a recording is in progress, including NoteCat adding [RECORDING] to its name and voice channel status.

🎧 Join/Leave Sounds in Recordings

Join and leave sounds are now included in recordings, so you can tell when folks join or leave the call during playback.

🔧 Other Improvements

• The very first time a recording is started, a new one-time recording consent prompt is shown before the recording begins.
• Improved recording reliability, especially when users constantly transmit audio without gaps
• NoteCat links now look much nicer when shared in Discord/elsewhere with fancy embed images, like this:
