Question Answering

Ask NoteCat questions about a recording and get AI answers built from its transcript. You can ask in Discord with /ask, or on the web from any recording's page.

Example uses

• What were the action items from this meeting?
• Who said they were going to handle the refreshments next Tuesday?
• Which games were mentioned for this weekend's party?

Asking in Discord

After initiating a recording, type /ask [your question] in the same channel. NoteCat answers using the most recent transcript in the channel (including the currently active recording, if one exists).

Asking on the Web

Open a recording in the dashboard and switch to its Ask tab. Type your question and the answer streams in as it's written. Every claim in the answer carries a numbered reference — click it to jump to the exact moment in the transcript it came from.

Questions asked on the web are saved with the recording, so you can revisit past answers. This also means you can ask about any recording, not just the most recent one.

Privacy

Questions you ask on the web — and their answers — are visible only to you. Other people who can view the recording won't see them. Questions asked with /ask in Discord are different: those are posted in the channel, so anyone who can see the channel sees them.

Can I disable this feature?
