Visibility Settings

Control who can see your Discord voice recordings

Control who can view your recordings with three visibility levels.

Visibility Levels

Channel (Default)

Any Discord member with access to the voice channel where the recording took place can view it. Users must sign in with Discord to verify access.

Use for: Team meetings, community discussions

Private

Only you (the person who started the recording) can view it.

Use for: Sensitive discussions, personal notes, testing

Public

Anyone with the share link can view it. No Discord account required.

Use for: Sharing outside Discord, publishing publicly

Changing Visibility

  1. Open the recording in the dashboard
  2. Click Visibility Settings
  3. Choose your level
  4. Save

Changes take effect immediately.

Public Share Links

When set to Public, NoteCat generates a unique shareable URL. Anyone with this link can view, play, and export the recording.

To revoke access, change visibility from Public to Channel or Private.

Who Can Change Visibility

The person who started the recording or Discord server admins (those with Manage Server permission) can change visibility settings.
